Come and drop a quarter, and enjoy the ambiance at the Route 99 Diner.
One of my favorite topics for modeling is retro tech, and the aesthetics of the 50s art deco inspired design language, which brings its own sort of challenge when modelling and texturing. When I picked a diner as my subject I knew I wanted some kind of cool retro tech to put front and center and the TuneSelector just seemed like the perfect fit to be my centerpiece, and build the ambience.

This model is 11k tris and uses 4 texture maps; 2 x 2048, for the main body and pages respectively, and 2 x 1024 maps for the keys and glass as well.

I really wanted to push myself with how I used Substance Painter, and being more deliberate with how I use the tool to better tell stories and making more use of my procedural texturing skills in concert with more hand placed touches to create something truly unique. Also I always look forward to integrating my use of Substance Designer in almost any project these days, and used it to create the Frames for the pages, and brought back my sticker generator.

Thanks for checking out my work!
